Four kits - 10 holes per inch. Each Design Size - 37.2 x 6 inches - ( 94.5 x 15 cm. ) - Canvas Cut - 41 x 10 inches - ( 104 x 25.4 cm. ) - Four Designs Joined - measures 37.2" x 24" - ( 64 x 94 cm. )

A full sized color photograph of the stitched design glued to a foam board - is on one side - with the stitch-painted needlepoint canvas on the other - the wool fibers - resting on the colored chart with symbols - are between inside a foam box - all wrapped in a resealable plastic folder with holes to breath.

The four strips or frame designs - stitched and joined together may be finished into needlepoint bench covers and headboards. The headboards require eight strips ( kits ) to fit the large bed. We name these designs - the Heraldic Borders.

The Heraldic symbols each have a special symbolic meaning. The Lion - historically - represents Deathless Courage - The Tower an emblem of Grandeur and Society - the Plant is symbolic of Truth and - finally the Fret - the heraldic true lovers knot.

The colors historically also have a particular symbolism: Gold means Generosity - Beige signifies Peace and Sincerity - Blue is Loyalty and Truth - Green is Hope - Joy and Loyalty in Love.

Great for country houses and rustics - the Heraldic Borders may be joined to create needlepoint headboards. Striking for a piano bench cover as well - the versatility of these designs is endless. A nice touch to pull back your drapes ( for exmaple ).

If you plan to stitch the borders rugs - bench covers and / or headboards - we do encourage the acquisition of the four - or more kits at once - to insure that the dye lots of our tapestry yarn match and that the canvases are cut from the same bolt. The other option is to acquire the canvases only - and select the colors that suit your decorations.
