Needlepoint Rug Kits

This collection consists of eight different kits. Eight Canvases - 10 holes per inch - measure: Central Design Sizes - 15.5 x 15.5 inches - ( 39 x 39 cm. ) - Borders Design Sizes - 37.2 x 6 inches ( 94.5 x 15 cm. ) - Canvases Cut - 2 extra inches around each design.

Needlepoint Rug Kits

A full sized color photograph of the stitched design glued to a foam board - is on one side - with the stitch-painted needlepoint canvas on the other - the wool fibers - resting on the colored chart with symbols - are between inside a foam box - all wrapped in a resealable plastic folder with holes to breath.

The packaged kits measure aprox. - 20 x 20 x 1/2 inches -- 50 x 50 x 1.5 cms. ( a bit under for shipping volumnes )

Based on Seventeenth Century tile paintings - the *TRADES OF TALAVERA* collection includes eight different designs ( kits ) - joined together - after stitching and blocking each individual tapestry.

Each of the eight Needlepoint Rug Kits designs is painted on Zweigart Canvases - 10 mesh / count / hpi - with two extra inches surrounding each painted canvas ( for blocking and finishing ).

Needlepoint Rug Kits

These historical 17th Century tile paintings from Talavera de la Reina - Spain -- have been carefully translated into needlework - and may be joined together to make a rug - or carpet. The twenty-two colors have been meticously matched to the original tiles. The original tile paintings were interpreted - by adding a bit more dimension ( using additional color tones ) - yet maintain the lightness of the freehand painted strokes.

Available as needlepoint rug kits or canvases ( not kitted ) - if you plan to stitch this entire rug - we encourage the acquisition of the eight kits at once - to insure that the dye lots of our tapestry wool match and that all the canvases are cut from the same bolt.
