The Needlepoint Collection - entitled - Memling - is based on the original painting - Flower Vase by Hans Memling c. 1485 - seen below.

The tapestry was pulled out of this famous painting and very patiently recreated - into a Needlework Tapestry Collection - 10 and 12 holes per inch.

The original painting - owned by the Museum Thyssen-Bornemizsa - is usually on permanent exhibit in their Madrid Museum. Considered Memling*s finest work - the painting was loaned to The Frick Collection in New York - where we were asked to display our collection of finished pieces - - ( seen throughout our websites ) - while the shop offered the kits for purchase.

We - adapted the design to 10 holes per inch canvas to create these step-cross needlepoint patterns. Selecting classical combinations of white with five shades of blue we offer a completely different mood for - more modern decors.

The Blue Memling Needlepoint Collection strongly resembles delft tiles - both in color and in design - creating an agreeable optical illusion - using this historical design.
